In this position you will work collaboratively with a Project Manager on private development projects ranging from large scale master planned communities, residential developments, and commercial and industrial projects. Clients include private developers, property owners, national homebuilders, and industrial distributors.  

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Planning Reports, including due diligence reports, site feasibility studies and justification statements.
  • Ability to conduct zoning code, land development regulation and comprehensive plan research, and apply standards to site specific development proposals, without the guidance of senior staff.
  • Prepare submittal documents, including rezoning, comprehensive plan amendments, development order amendments, variances, and site plan approval applications.
  • Work with WGI designers to apply code and land use regulations, and address agency comments.
  • Prepare presentation material, such as PowerPoint presentations, graphics, and maps.
  • Work with Project Manager to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Manage entry-level planners, including review of their work product, as well as provide direction on planning tasks.
  • Review master plans and site plans and assist designers with reviewing for compliance with regulations.
  • Manage planning deliverables and minor submittals.
  • Review invoicing with Project Manager.
  • Works under the direction of a Project Manager on the Land Development Team and will present information to senior management and other team members.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or closely related field from an accredited four-year college.
  • Demonstrated 5+ years in progressively responsible Land Development experience, or experience in private planning practice.
  • Management of planning related tasks or phases preferred.
  • AICP Certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues; strategic and critical thinking required.
  • Ability to work as a team, or independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Night and weekend work may be required.
  • Travel to other office locations may be required.
