WGI is seeking a Planning Manager with 10+ years' experience to work with our Land Development Team in our West Palm Beach, Florida office.


The Planning Manager directs and mentors a team of planners in multiple offices, and is responsible for the workload distribution, coordination, quality, and delivery of all planning deliverables in the Land Development Department.


  • Recruit new associates and mentor team members to provide quality projects that ensure client satisfaction.
  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews, approve timesheets, time off and expense reports.
  • Perform QA/QC of Site Feasibility Reports, Due Diligence Reports, Justification Statements, Project Narratives, Comment Response Letters, etc., to ensure work complies with WGI standards, meets the technical requirements of government agencies, and agrees with the client’s development program.
  • Manage a team of planners, across the entire Department, in all geographic locations – including review of their work product, as well as provide direction on planning tasks.
  • Manage planning workload for all the department deliverables, including information sharing and workload distribution with the entire project team.
  • Guide the preparation of planning documents, such as Site Feasibility Reports, Due Diligence Reports, Justification Statements, Project Narratives, Comment Response Letters, etc.
  • Coordination with clients, consultants and government agencies, as needed.
  • Work with planning team to develop strategy related to department projects, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintain and control project budgets and schedule and prepare scope and fees related to planning deliverables and process.
  • Manage planning deliverables and submittals for the department.
  • Standardization of libraries, including document templates and best practices.

Works under the direction of a Director, Land Development


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field from an accredited university, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated 10+ years in progressively responsible planning experience, including 5+ years of management.
  • AICP certification or PLA licensure is required.
  • Demonstrates reliable understanding of the relationship between design and planning.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience using computer software programs including SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator is a plus.
  • Experience in the application of GIS is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write business correspondence and presentations.
  • Ability to work as a team, or independently.
  • Night and weekend work may be required.
  • Travel to other office locations may be required.
