Overview

We are seeking a National Public Markets Client Manager for our Civil Division with 20+ years of experience to join our rapidly growing team in either of the following offices: West Palm Beach, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Florida or San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Texas or Arlington, Virginia. 

 

The WGI Civil National Public Markets Client Manager will drive sales and revenue with federal, state, and local clients by introducing and selling the unique capabilities and resources of WGI nationally.  This leader will be the face of WGI to these markets by leveraging and cultivating key relationships in target markets. The Manager will lead our growth strategies in our public markets nationally.

Responsibilities

Business Development – Pursue / Win Work

  • Identify national opportunities that represent strong fit and profitability potential for WGI Civil Division public practice: specific clients, projects, markets, and strategic partnerships in the water, stormwater, water resources, wastewater, utilities, transportation, drainage, etc. disciplines.
  • Provide leadership to the business development team and work closely with our project managers to understand the capabilities and experience of the team.
  • Target specific organizations and associations to access and network with key national contacts and work with Civil Division associates to engage in relationships.
  • Prepare and issue reports on prospect pipelines, current sales, year-to-date sales performance, and sales forecasts for public projects and present to Civil Division Leadership.
  • Lead efforts to cultivate, manage, and grow a network of national, industry-wide public contacts.

Business Development – Support Other Civil Division Team Members Who Pursue / Win Work

  • Work with the Civil Division’s public team to identify, communicate and track the success of lead sources for each of our services and report back to Civil Leadership.
  • Ensure public projects (won or lost) are followed and pre-marketed for new design opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business development team on must-win public pursuits to ensure the WGI Civil Division is differentiated from the competition.
  • Track and report the conversion rate of the following, by region and by service: RFQ/RFP responses, written proposals and interviews.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and oversee the implementation and use of a formal client feedback process for Civil Division public pursuits.
  • Monitor and report on client satisfaction for public services within the Civil Engineering Division.
  • Develop and track a client life cycle process for Civil Public client relationships. 

Marketing

  • Identify, monitor and report on leading industry trends, delivery of best practices, new market opportunities (service offering or geography), and competitor standings in the public sector.
  • Use expert knowledge of service, market, and competitor information to aid leadership and sales team in differentiating the WGI Civil Division.
  • Work with the Division’s leadership and visualization manager to establish a national reputation for expertise in enabling technologies.
  • Coordinate with Civil Leadership and WGI Marketing to develop marketing materials and presentations for use by our team and other business development team members to target various public market sectors. This should include digital and physical opportunities to develop WGI as an industry expert through speaking opportunities, blogs, white papers, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, marketing, business or similar relevant fields
  • Minimum of 20 years in sales, in the engineering public sector.
  • Proven track record of winning work
  • Extensive industry / client contacts and relationships
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the country when needed and to adapt to a flexible meeting and travel schedule.
