Overview

We have an opening for a Senior Level Computational Software Engineer in the Winter Springs, FL office.

 

The successful candidate will be part of our Software Development Team and will assist in maintaining, enhancing, and creating new features for our computational framework, working closely with our Software Engineers and the Water Resources Engineering Team. The candidate's initial primary focus will be learning the architecture of the existing code-base. As their knowledge of our software and system architecture grows, they may potentially become the technical team lead of the Software Engineering Team.

Our stormwater and flood forecasting models include complex mathematical models that simulate the rainfall-runoff process, drainage systems, flooding and flood forecasting, groundwater flow, water quality impacts, and green stormwater infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the structure and operability of the existing code-base.
  • Develop and enhance existing software and create new features.
  • Resolve errors and bugs found in the code.
  • Update and maintain source code documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Water Resources Engineering team to identify new features and product enhancements.
  • Provide customer technical support on software related issues.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
  • Strong C++ programming skills 
  • Experience with computational and numerical methods
  • Experience with multi-threaded applications
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including Simple Storage Service (S3) and Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) a plus
  • Experience with C# and the .NET framework a plus
  • Experience with GPU processing a plus
  • Experience building large complex Windows desktop applications
  • Ability to conceive, design, develop, test, and optimize software components
  • Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
