Overview

The South Florida Market Leader’s responsibilities include:  

 

Business development, recruiting, developing team members, and executing the work while meeting financial and team member growth targets. 

 

South Florida Market for WGI – Transportation, includes major public sector client FDOT District 4 and District 6.  Other target clients include: 

  • Counties: (Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe) 
  • Municipalities (Miami, Miami Beach, Doral, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Port St. Lucie) 
  • Tolling Authorities (GMX) (Note:  FTE involvement as needed, handled by individual client manager)

Responsibilities

 Core Responsibilities: 

  • Working in partnership with WGI’s Transportation Leadership Team, this position is responsible for developing and directing business opportunities for clients and supporting project execution in the public infrastructure market. 
  • Duties will include maintaining and expanding existing client relationships; identifying, establishing, and developing relationships with new target clients; developing market networks; and positioning the firm and pursuit team leadership for project pursuits that result in client selection and contractual awards. 
  • In partnership with program and operations leadership, develop and implement strategic and targeted goals that align with meeting the division annual and Strategic Plan goals. 
  • Manage key projects and programs to ensure proper execution and delivery of projects assigned. 
  • Coordinate with and mentor Project Managers to provide quality projects that ensure client satisfaction. 
  • Assist divisional operations leadership with operational analysis and response to meet the division annual goals. 
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering /technical work performed in the market sector in associated offices utilizing company-wide standards. 
  • Analyze and qualify potential clients that align with professional and financial value to the firm. 
  • Assist in building relationships with key decision makers of targeted clients. 
  • Partner with the Business Development Leads, Project Managers, and other leaders within the firm in pursuit of new opportunities. 
  • Work directly with the marketing and business development services teams in preparation of collateral materials such as qualifications packages, proposals, interview presentations, specialty brochures, and other marketing information promoting our services, such as white papers. 
  • Lead pursuit teams to develop and implement successful proposal and interview strategies resulting in shortlist and selection. 
    • Coordinate and participate in industry conferences, professional associations, and other external organizations to develop business contacts, promote WGI, and engage potential clients and partner firms.

  • Primary short and mid-term goals: 

    • Grow Miami market share and staff capabilities. 
    • Expand Fort Lauderdale staff and services within transportation (Current Transportation presence includes three bridge/structures associates and one roadway PM). 
    • Maintain and expand Client relationship and backlog in FDOT D4 and D6. 
    • Work with other Transportation leadership to develop process and strategy for introducing Program Management level services to existing south Florida clients and beyond. 
    • Serve as Senior Project Manager/Director on key projects and programs. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college
  • Demonstrated 20+ years in progressively responsible experience
  • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) licience required
  • Highway design lead experience preferred:
    • Project Management with FDOT (FDOT District 4 and District 6)
    • Project Management with municipalities
  • Microsoft office skills – including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Travel to other office locations may be required
