This position manages the Business Development (BD) process from lead finding to prequalification to opportunities to Go/No Go; develops procedures aimed at improving efficiency and quality of information available for BD; works with internal clients throughout the firm to coordinate business development efforts; supports the Senior VP of BD in the planning, development, and execution of the BD Business Plan.

Responsibilities

  • BD Process and Procedure 
  • Create and implement new procedures within AEC360 (or other Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform) Employees, Clients, Contacts, Opportunities, Marketing Campaigns, and Custom Proposals Info Centers to improve availability and consistency of information 
  • Look for opportunities to create efficiencies and improve the proposal process through use of Vision and workflows; develop automated processes where possible 
  • Develop and implement annual resume update procedure companywide 
  • Attend divisional sales meetings to ensure consistency in procedures, as well as soliciting feedback on current procedures; create efficiencies where possible 
  • Manage workflow for BD process from lead to opportunity to proposal 
  • Manage and implement employee on-boarding procedure to obtain BD info 
  • Effectively communicate changes in BD procedures to the BD team and others 
  • Manage Go/No-Go process 
  • Analyze go/no-go checklists from AEC360 for consistency with business plans 
  • Determine if qualified and discuss with PM/Division Managers 
  • AEC360 (or other CRM) 
  • Analyze and report on BD KPIs and other metrics; develop and produce weekly discrepancy reports for distribution to BD Managers 
  • Proactively interact with project managers to maintain Opportunities and overall database  
  • Develop CRM user manual, guidelines, and other training materials 
  • Develop and conduct PM training for CRM 
  • Review division business plans annually to determine target areas/clients 
  • Develop and implement sub plans for delivering on annual business plan. 
  • Attend industry trade shows as needed 
  • Quality Control for BD and Marketing as needed 
  • Assist with Business Strategy as it relates to Transportation and State/Local Government: 
  • Facilitate the Development of Local BD and proposal materials to support multi-disciplinary pursuits. 
  • Develop local pipeline for opportunities for FDOT pursuits and establish teaming relationships. 
  • Work with other Geospatial Associates to build out funnel for 1.5x annual sales goals. 
  • Develop strategy to mine existing CSC’s and target high value contracts. 
  • Lead and facilitate DOT prequalification process in states where such qualifications do not exist. 
  • Prequalification, vendor registration, and licensing

Qualifications

  • Prior experience using AEC360 or similar database is highly preferred 
  • Strong editing and quality control experience 
  • Previous management experience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • A 4-year degree in a related field (communications, marketing, business, English) 
  • Minimum years of experience: 10 years  
  • Familiarity with the AEC Industry preferred
